Job Summary:

As the Laborer , you will ultimately be responsible for supporting underground and general construction activities, operating and maintaining construction equipment, and preparing and restoring project sites. You will assist construction crews in executing daily field operations while delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality construction support. As the Laborer, your customers are construction supervisors, field crews, and telecommunications clients, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through safe work practices, dependable field support, and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

• Operate and care for construction equipment, tools, and machinery
• Assist equipment operators and skilled craft workers with daily construction activities
• Prepare construction sites by removing obstacles and identifying potential hazards
• Load, unload, transport, and organize construction materials and equipment
• Assemble and dismantle temporary structures, including scaffolding, as required
• Remove, fill, compact earth, and restore disturbed property following project completion
• Follow instructions from supervisors and support field operations as directed
• Perform site clean-up and maintain safe, organized work areas
• Travel to and from assigned job sites as required
• Perform all phases of general and underground construction, including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of construction materials and equipment
• Operate or work safely around heavy equipment including backhoes, jackhammers, compactors, drills, pumps, saws, conduit, pedestals, cable, and other construction tools
• Maintain safe working habits and comply with company safety policies at all times
• Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs

Required Qualifications:

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Class A Driver's License

Experience

• Previous construction experience preferred
• Experience in the telecommunications or underground utilities industry preferred
• Experience operating construction equipment and hand tools preferred

Skills and Abilities

• Working knowledge of construction hand tools and mechanical equipment
• Ability to safely operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
• Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to learn new construction techniques through on-the-job training
• Ability to travel to project locations as business needs require
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in telecommunications construction
• Experience in underground utility construction
• Experience operating heavy construction equipment
• Knowledge of construction safety practices and procedures

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform strenuous and physically demanding work for extended periods
• Ability to work outdoors in varying and inclement weather conditions
• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing 40–90 lbs.
• Ability to maintain visual and audible awareness of crew members, equipment, and surrounding work areas
• Ability to safely operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and other required safety gear
