Accounts Receivable & Credit Manager

Overview As the A/R & Credit Manager, you will manage the daily activities of the Accounts Receivable team, ensuring internal controls, analyzing risk, and maintaining strong customer relationships while reporting to the Controller, NA. Key Responsibilities Lead the Accounts Receivable team, assign tasks, mentor staff, evaluate performance, and recommend employment actions. Interpret and enforce credit policies, ensuring proper internal controls to safeguard company assets. Analyze new and existing customers’ business and risk profiles, recommend credit limits, and obtain financial statements and credit data. Resolve credit holds, evaluate past‑due accounts, contact customers for payment arrangements, and act on pending orders. Conduct proactive collections based on payment terms, cash flow needs, and customer risk. Record customer payments: post cash receipts, manage EFT collections, reconcile credit card payments, and settle receipts. Perform customer account reconciliations, approve adjustments, prepare recurring invoices, and issue refunds. Oversee aging of accounts and review A/R reports, unapplied cash, and provision of bad debt reserves. Collaborate with sales on customer communications regarding payment status. Support treasury as signer on U.S. and Canadian cash accounts and authorize settlement of credit card systems. Serve as point person for all external audit requests related to Accounts Receivable and Revenue. Conduct month‑end closing of the Accounts Receivable module in JDEdwards, ensuring timely reporting. Recommend internal and external process improvements to increase departmental efficiency. Key Performance Indicators Minimize total past dues through effective overdue report reviews. Reduce the number of open credits on customer accounts. Maintain timeliness of daily cash application processes. Achieve DSO (Daily Sales Outstanding) targets. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. 5+ years of related experience in accounts receivable, credit, or collections. Strong interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills. Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency with accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheets.
