SEAS Recreation Program Specialist - Field Hockey

Position: Recreation Program Specialist - Field Hockey (Seasonal - SEAS)

Hourly Rate: $30.00 (no benefits)

Job Summary:

The Town of Barnstable Recreation Division is seeking a dedicated Program Specialist to lead and support participants in our seasonal youth programs. This role focuses on ensuring the safety, engagement, and enjoyment of children in grades K-7, with an emphasis on field hockey instruction. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, leadership, and a strong background in the sport.

Responsibilities:

• Instruct and lead youth in field hockey activities and games
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants
• Supervise group activities and maintain a positive and inclusive environment
• Enforce program rules and guidelines as set by the Recreation Division
• Work collaboratively with staff and communicate effectively with parents/guardians

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience coaching or playing field hockey
• Previous experience working with or supervising children
• Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, and AED
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to engage and motivate young participants in a recreational setting

Program Schedule:

• Saturdays, September 12, 2026 - October 31, 2026, 8:00 AM - 10:30 AM
