Job Summary

Responsible for assisting all Distribution Business customers, technicians, and other parts personnel in securing needed parts and supplies under moderate or direct supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Complies with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, policies, procedures, and regulations. Uses appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Carries out customer parts counter duties under moderate supervision, including receiving parts calls, greeting and assisting walk-in customers, completing all paperwork and processing it accordingly, and handling cash, check, and credit card transactions.
• Maintains a favorable relationship with internal and external customers by addressing their needs and issues in a timely manner. Escalates customer issues to more senior parts personnel or supervisor when needed.
• Maintains a neat and clean appearance in the customer parts area and parts warehouse.
• Supports other parts personnel in sourcing and locating complex parts requests or finding alternatives under moderate or direct supervision.
• Utilizes various systems, catalogs, other resources, and collaborates with technicians to identify and procure parts in the most cost- and time-efficient manner.
• Ability to identify and act on opportunities with customers to upsell supporting products and services, as appropriate.
• Performs other duties under moderate supervision that may include managing stock levels, shipping and receiving parts, warehouse activities, inventory management-related tasks, core processing, or other parts-related duties as assigned by management.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

• High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education, or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, generating reports, and advanced-level computer skills.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Requires some work experience or an intermediate level of knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

Additional information from the manager :   

This position is responsible for a variety of warehouse and inventory functions, including putting away inventory, pulling and processing orders, packing orders, and handling shipping and receiving activities. The role will also involve breaking down large stock orders and properly stocking inventory, pulling pick tickets, and staging orders for delivery to trucks. A valid driver’s license is required, as the position may occasionally involve driving locally to pick up parts. We are looking for someone who is interested in building a long-term career with Cummins and is willing to learn and grow within the organization. Please note that the warehouse is not climate controlled, and employees are required to wear steel-toe boots or shoes.

This position will begin as a six-month contract, with the potential for an extension or an opportunity to transition to a full-time position based on business needs and performance. The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is an onsite position, and the interview will also be conducted onsite and is expected to last approximately 30 minutes.
