Role Description The Executive Accountant is a part-time remote role responsible for overseeing accounting and tax preparation activities for a portfolio of small business and individual clients. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing tax returns, maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. The role also involves analyzing financial data, identifying tax-saving opportunities, and providing clear guidance to clients on accounting and tax-related matters. The Executive Accountant will collaborate with internal team members to improve processes, respond to client inquiries, and support the delivery of consistent, high-quality service. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to meet deadlines during peak tax seasons, and professional communication in a remote work environment.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess strong accounting fundamentals, including financial reporting, general ledger management, and account reconciliation skills.
  • Candidates should possess tax preparation and compliance skills, including experience with individual and small business returns and knowledge of current tax regulations.
  • Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting and tax software, as well as solid Excel and general computer skills.
  • Candidates should possess analytical and problem-solving skills to review financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend solutions.
  • Candidates should possess strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple clients and meet deadlines in a part-time remote setting.
  • Candidates should possess clear written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex financial and tax concepts to clients.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and professional certifications (e.g., CPA, EA) are highly beneficial.
  • Prior experience in public accounting, tax preparation, or small business accounting is preferred.
