Golf Course Maintenance Worker

Maintenance WorkerThis position works 40 hours a week Monday through Friday and one short weekend day is required every other weekend. This is a seasonal position and will end at the end of November.Under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, the Maintenance Worker performs grounds and facilities-related maintenance duties at the Coyote Creek Golf Course.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs a variety of duties in helping maintain golf greens, tees, fairways and roughsOperates push and riding lawn mowersOperates string trimmersOperates backpack blowersUtilizes a variety of tools such as rakes and shovelsCleans and maintains equipment and facilitiesMay paint facilitiesPerforms such other duties as may be assignedQualifications and RequirementsEDUCATION:High School Diploma or equivalentMust be 18 years of ageEXPERIENCE:Previous experience with tools, machines and equipment used in the maintenance of a golf course preferred.Previous golf or landscape experience preferred.LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONSValid Class R Driver's License with good driving history at the time of application.Must be able to obtain CPR certification within first 6 months of employment.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may work in elevated areas. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including bright sunlight, heat, light rainfall, wind and cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Must be able to express ideas clearly and concisely.
