Electrical Estimator II

The Electrical Estimator II is responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates for electrical service work, commercial construction projects, and mission critical environments. This role plays a key part in supporting business growth by evaluating project opportunities, preparing detailed cost estimates, and ensuring bid proposals align with project requirements and company objectives. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of electrical construction means and methods. This individual will work closely with Operations, Project Management, Field Leadership, Vendors, and Customers to develop comprehensive estimates that support successful project execution and long-term profitability. Responsibilities Perform detailed electrical quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Prepare complete estimates for service work, quoted projects, maintenance agreements, commercial construction projects, and mission critical facilities. Develop labor estimates based on installation methods, project complexity, site conditions, and productivity expectations. Build detailed material takeoffs and pricing packages utilizing vendor quotations, historical cost data, and market conditions. Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals. Identify scope gaps, overlaps, constructability concerns, and potential project risks prior to bid submission. Participate in pre-bid meetings, jobsite walkthroughs, and customer discussions as required. Assist in preparing bid proposals, clarifications, and value engineering recommendations. Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Service Managers, Superintendents, and Field Leadership throughout the estimating process. Support project turnover by communicating estimate assumptions, labor strategies, scheduling considerations, and key project risks to operations teams. Maintain strong working relationships with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners. Provide estimating support for negotiated work, change orders, and budget development activities. Process Improvement & Cost Management Maintain estimating databases, labor units, historical cost information, and vendor pricing resources. Monitor market trends, material pricing fluctuations, and labor cost changes. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to estimating processes, accuracy, and operational efficiency. Manage multiple bids and fast-paced service opportunities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and responsiveness. Requirements 6+ years of electrical estimating experience within commercial, industrial, service, or mission critical construction environments. Strong background in commercial electrical construction and/or electrical service operations. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, and project documentation. Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC). Experience developing labor estimates, material takeoffs, and complete project cost analyses. Proficiency with estimating software, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Microsoft Excel, and other construction technology platforms. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments. Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and bid opportunities simultaneously. Preferred Experience estimating mission critical, data center, healthcare, manufacturing, or other complex electrical construction projects. Previous field leadership experience as a Foreman, Superintendent, or similar role. OSHA 30 certification. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred. Strong understanding of project execution, labor productivity, scheduling, and field operations. Proven ability to identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions while maintaining project quality and performance. #J-18808-Ljbffr
