Location Green River, WY Role Purpose The Internal Communications Specialist will deliver engaging, culturally sensitive communications across the WE Soda US team. Working within a small, cross-functional communications team, the role supports development and execution of internal communications strategies that foster a shared sense of purpose and direction across all employees and locations. The successful candidate will bring strong English language communication skills, a creative storytelling mindset, and hands-on experience across digital channels, social media, events, and design tools. Key Responsibilities Strategy & Employee Engagement Develop culturally sensitive and unifying internal communications strategies for WE Soda US. Advise on engagement approaches for professional and operational employees in Wyoming and field locations. Liaise with internal departments and management to gather updates and announcements, ensuring timely and accurate communication. Spotlight new employees and tailor communications across US sites to support onboarding processes. Content Creation & Storytelling Create and edit content (announcements, newsletters, presentations) reflecting the company voice and values. Apply storytelling skills to bring updates, milestones, and people stories to life. Collaborate with site contacts to gather updates for global and local communications. Support management in delivering clear, empathetic, and culturally sensitive messages to a diverse employee base. Social Media & Digital Communications Co-manage US social media channels and branding for recruitment sites, community advertisements, and broader brand engagement. Monitor and respond to social media activity in alignment with policy. Develop and manage internal channels (intranet, apps, newsletters, video) for consistent content. Demonstrate digital literacy with intranet platforms and social media tools. Use design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) to produce engaging materials. Media, Events & Sponsorship Support leadership with media and press relations, aligned with brand guidelines; cooperation with Governmental Affairs as applicable. Plan and deliver communications events with leadership (town halls, employee engagement sessions). Manage event and sponsorship communications with stakeholders. Lead planning and communication of employee events (e.g., service awards, holiday parties). Video Production Collaborate with agencies to create internal and external video content when needed. Key Qualifications & Experience Experience & Education 5–10+ years in a communications role, delivering content across multiple channels. Internal or corporate communications experience strongly preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in languages, journalism, or communications preferred. Background in mining, industrials, or energy/resources sectors is beneficial. Skills & Competencies Exceptional written and verbal English communication with strong storytelling ability. Proficient in design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent). Digitally literate with experience in social media management, intranet platforms, and digital tools. Articulate, persuasive, and confident with senior stakeholders. Attention to detail and ability to produce polished written materials. Strategic thinker with experience in long-term planning and execution of communications/branding. Culturally aware and able to build relationships across locations and levels. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Personal Attributes Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-growth environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines. Reliable, collaborative, and proactive with a commitment to building trust across teams. Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple workstreams independently.
