Certified Coder Overview As a Certified Coder, ensure accurate CPT and ICD coding compliance for healthcare documentation. Collaborate with teams to resolve coding discrepancies and optimize reimbursement processes. Maintain and review IDX account records and encounter files for coding accuracy. Support accreditation guidelines and regulatory compliance in medical coding practices. Perform technical assignments related to coding and documentation analysis. Contribute to the renewal and validation of compliance files and records. Provide expertise in coding standards and utilize Microsoft Office tools effectively. Enhance healthcare operations by ensuring coding precision and compliance. Certified Coder Key Responsibilities & Duties Assign and enter accurate diagnoses and procedure codes for reimbursement purposes. Resolve coding discrepancies and rejected claims from third-party carriers efficiently. Monitor TES Open Encounter files to ensure coding accuracy and compliance. Support the renewal and management of compliance files and accreditation guidelines. Perform account maintenance and ensure adherence to coding regulations. Collaborate with management and teams to address coding challenges effectively. Utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation, reporting, and coding tasks. Contribute to the optimization of coding processes and healthcare documentation. Certified Coder Job Requirements Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required. High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of relevant coding experience; 5 years preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for coding documentation and reporting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in coding tasks.
