Tech Lead

This is a remote role

Primary Focus - EBC backend/runtime, APIs, session and identity context, integrations, reliable delivery of data and AI responses

Backend Engineering - Advanced Python; REST and streaming APIs; asynchronous processing; session and workflow-state management; retries, timeouts, caching, schema validation, and structured error handling

API and Integration - API-first design; Apigee; authentication and authorization; user-context propagation; versioned contracts; rate limiting; integration with UI, AI gateways, agents, BigQuery, and Stardog

Data Engineering - Advanced SQL; BigQuery; curated and authorized views; query optimization; result transformation; pagination, filtering, masking, and role-aware delivery

AI and Retrieval - Working knowledge of conversational AI, agent integration, structured response payloads, citations, and graceful handling of unavailable downstream services

Knowledge Graph - Ability to integrate backend services with semantic and graph interfaces

Cloud and Infrastructure - GCP, GKE, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, service accounts, secrets, workload identity, networking, DNS, load balancing, and private connectivity

CI/CD and Release - Automated build, test, deployment, promotion, rollback, credential rotation, and environment management

Testing and Quality - Unit, integration, contract, regression, performance, load, and resilience testing; automated quality gates

Observability and Operations - Logging, metrics, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting, SLIs, incident response, root-cause analysis, recovery, and support runbooks

Security and Governance - Secure coding; least privilege; identity propagation; secrets management; masking; audit logging; protection of sensitive data

Tech Lead Expectations - Own backend design and service boundaries; remain hands-on; conduct design and code reviews; mentor engineers; manage dependencies and production readiness
