This is not a routine high volume insurance defense practice . The firm handles a broad range of sophisticated insurance and civil defense matters, including: Medical Malpractice Professional Liability Catastrophic Injury Commercial Litigation Insurance Coverage & Bad Faith Trucking / Transportation General Liability Other Complex Civil Defense Matters Why Consider This Opportunity? Key Responsibilities Defend insurance carriers, businesses, professionals, healthcare providers, contractors, and other clients in complex civil litigation. Manage cases from initial evaluation through mediation, settlement, trial, or other resolution. Conduct and defend depositions. Handle hearings, court appearances, and other litigation proceedings. Draft and argue dispositive and substantive motions. Develop litigation strategies and evaluate liability, damages, causation, and exposure. Work closely with clients, claims professionals, experts, medical consultants, and opposing counsel. Maintain strong client communication and effectively manage assigned matters. Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school. Active Florida Bar membership in good standing. Civil litigation experience required. Insurance defense or related defense litigation experience strongly preferred. Candidates with experience in medical malpractice, construction defect, professional liability, general liability, or other complex defense litigation are particularly encouraged to apply. Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $110,000 – $180,000 Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
