Maintenance Tech II - 2nd Shift

Overview Cadrex is searching for a Maintenance Technician II to perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery, facility equipment, and physical structures according to safety and preventive maintenance systems and processes. Key Responsibilities Perform highly diversified duties in maintaining production machines and the plant facility’s equipment Develop work instructions for production and facility’s equipment helping to build a preventive maintenance system Use a variety of hand and power tools and electric multimeters Ability to use computers proficiently Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of equipment, machines, and facilities Installs new production machinery and equipment Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests, and adjusts Detects faulty operations, defective materials or/or equipment and reports as required Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem area Inspect and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems Provides emergency service and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs to production equipment during machine service Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair Repairs broken parts, replaces defective parts and motors, belts, and adjusts feed mechanisms Connects wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses, and splices wire and insulates wire with friction tape Performs regular preventative maintenance on machines and equipment Patches or replaces plaster/plaster board and paints walls, ceilings, and trim of buildings May be required to use personal vehicle at times for work assignments Requirements Qualifications and experience required for the application. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years’ experience may be substituted in lieu of degree Demonstrated electronics knowledge and variety of hand tools, ability to understand mechanical processes, possess electronics knowledge, and possess a basic knowledge of hydraulics Previous experience in a machine shop performing maintenance mechanic duties preferred Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance and/or repair instructions and manuals, and procedure manuals Demonstrated ability to read electrical schematics Education Associate/Technical degree in related field preferred. Location Onsite Schedule M‑Th; 4:15 pm–2:45 am Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
