We are seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field survey operations throughout South Florida. This position is ideal for a hands-on surveying professional who enjoys working outdoors, leading crews, utilizing modern technology, and contributing to projects that shape local communities.

Position Summary

The Survey Crew Chief will be responsible for leading and coordinating field survey crews while collecting accurate survey data for a variety of projects, including boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys. This individual will operate advanced surveying equipment, ensure quality control in the field, maintain project schedules, and work closely with surveyors, engineers, and project managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily activities of survey field crews
• Perform boundary, topographic, construction, route, and as-built surveys
• Operate and maintain electronic survey equipment, including GPS and robotic total stations
• Collect, verify, and document accurate field data
• Ensure survey work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards
• Review field notes and measurements for completeness and accuracy
• Coordinate with office staff, project managers, engineers, and licensed surveyors
• Maintain project schedules and communicate field progress effectively
• Troubleshoot field challenges and provide solutions to keep projects on track
• Transport, set up, and care for survey equipment
• Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices

Qualifications

Required

• Previous experience in land surveying, preferably in a crew chief or lead field role
• Experience performing boundary, topographic, and/or construction surveys
• Proficiency operating electronic survey equipment
• Ability to read survey plans, plats, and construction drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends as project demands require
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening

Preferred

• Experience working in South Florida surveying environments
• Familiarity with GPS, RTK, robotic total stations, and data collectors
• Knowledge of construction layout and staking
• Experience mentoring and training junior field personnel
• CST certification or surveying-related education/training

Pay Details: $23.00 to $40.00 per hour
