Home Manager / Direct Support Professional II (DSP2)
PCGH, Inc. is hiring a Home Manager / Direct Support Professional II (DSP2) to provide hands-on, person-centered support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) living in a group home.
This position also serves as a lead staff role within the home and reports to the Program Coordinator. Along with providing direct support, the Home Manager helps keep the home organized, communicates important updates to the staff team, assists newer staff with routines and expectations, and helps make sure appointments, groceries, household supplies, and other day-to-day needs are handled.
Each day, DSP2s support the people we serve with personal care, meals, medication-related duties as trained, appointments, activities, household routines, transportation, and documentation.
Hours and Starting Pay
Starting pay is at least $15.00 per hour, with higher pay available based on relevant experience and qualifications.
This is a full-time position that generally includes weekday evening shifts and every other Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The role also includes periodic mandatory staff meetings, training, and other program-related responsibilities.
What the Job Involves
- Provide respectful, person-centered support with daily living skills, personal care, meals, household routines, community activities, transportation, and appointments.
- Follow each individual’s service plan and support goals related to independence, health, safety, and quality of life.
- Administer medications and treatments as trained and assigned.
- Complete service notes, incident reports, financial records, timesheets, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Communicate changes in an individual’s health, behavior, or support needs to the Program Coordinator and other appropriate staff.
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized home environment.
- Help keep groceries, household supplies, and other routine needs on hand.
- Assist with client appointment coordination and transportation planning.
- Help newer staff learn individual routines, support needs, household expectations, and documentation requirements.
- Share coverage, scheduling, appointment, and household updates with the Program Coordinator and home team.
- Assist with routine household and individual financial documentation as assigned.
- Help address routine household needs and follow through on assigned responsibilities.
- Work cooperatively with coworkers and program leadership to help the home operate smoothly.
- Follow PCGH policies, confidentiality standards, required training, and safety expectations.
What We Need From You
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Previous experience supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group home, residential program, or a very similar direct-care setting is required.
- Experience providing hands-on support with personal care, household routines, transportation, medications, and required documentation.
- A valid driver’s license and the legal ability to drive in North Carolina.
- Ability to meet PCGH’s criminal background and motor vehicle record requirements.
- Dependable attendance, good communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to follow through.
- A strong teamwork mindset and willingness to communicate, cooperate, and help coworkers when needed.
- A positive, mature attitude when supporting clients, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Ability to safely perform the physical duties of direct support, including lifting up to 35 pounds unassisted and assisting with transfers as trained.
