Project Manager

Power Mechanical, Inc is currently seeking a hardworking, career-oriented individual of good character to fill a Project Manager position within our organization. This position is responsible for all phases of the estimating and bidding process including preconstruction services and performing estimate takeoffs. Thorough knowledge of the mechanical construction bidding processes is required. Specific expertise mechanical piping and plumbing systems serving laboratories, power plants, manufacturing facilities, and process systems for shipyards and NASA facilities is desired. Ability to produce a complete detailed estimate from incomplete design documents is preferred. Job Type Full-time Experience Mechanical construction: 5 years (Required) Estimating: 5 years (Required) Education Bachelor's (Preferred) Essential Duties and Responsibilities Attend pre-bid or team scope review meetings and understand the complete scope of work required, with sometimes limited information. Review and understand all the project bid and documents. Locate, notify and send bid information to subcontractors and vendors for quotations on outsourced work. Complete the estimate takeoff, using on-screen computer estimating, within time deadlines. Work as a team with other estimators, company divisions and departments. Able to lead Compile and finalize the estimate within time deadline and participate in team reviews with management on bid day. Evaluate bids of subcontractors and vendors for completeness of scope of work, schedule, compliance with specifications, or other bid requirements. Prepare value engineering analysis in anticipation of the customer’s best interest. Develop the scope of work narrative. Assist field operations with the estimate after bid award. Meet proposal due date schedules. Anticipates requirements of producing estimates with little information given. Able to see the overall requirements of customer satisfaction without losing site of the details. Qualifications 5+ years of estimating mechanical (piping) work required. Experience with industrial facilities projects is a plus. Ability and full working knowledge with estimating software. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Produce accurate, timely and competitive estimates with minimal data. Excellent communication skills with customers, vendors, subcontractors, general contractors and owners. Occasional travel to site locations. Preferred Education / Experience Prefer a minimum of 3-5 years mechanical construction experience and proficiency in the preparation of large and complex bid proposals of all types. Trades apprenticeship, or bachelor’s or better Computer Skills Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Internet, windows-based piping estimating systems. Required Attributes Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills. Maintain a professional manner in actions and appearance when representing Power Mechanical Must prioritize in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with organization skills. Must have demonstrated ability to perform basic business mathematical functions. Must work with minimal supervision.li> Must effectively manage time and details. Must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must have organizational skills in handling & archiving technical data. Must comply with all operating policies, procedures, plans, and programs. Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, vendors, and suppliers. Employee will quickly learn the industry as they progress in their position.
