Compounding Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will accurately read and interpret prescriptions under the supervision of a Pharmacist, while also preparing formula log sheets and compounding orders with precision. You will ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and maintain our pharmacy's ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Correctly read and interpret prescriptions, processing them in The Compounder system under Pharmacist supervision.
• Prepare the correct formula log sheet for standard items and refer non-standard items to the Compounding Pharmacist.
• Accurately compound orders following formulas, including mixing, packaging, labeling, and record-keeping. Present orders to the pharmacist for final check.
• Maintain ingredient, equipment, and batched product inventories alongside the pharmacist.
• Uphold the moral and ethical practice of the pharmacy.
• Provide prompt and friendly service to clients, handling patient complaints efficiently.
• Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly activities are recorded within the appropriate monitoring and compliance system.
• Engage in continuous improvement and education of techniques and processes.
• Collaborate with the non-sterile compounding team to identify areas of improvement.
• Report any insanitary conditions observed or potentially developed immediately.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in USP797, Pharmacy, Sterile Compounding, and Compounding.
• Current Pharmacy Technician certification.
• Ability to fill prescriptions accurately.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work well with pharmacists, peers, and superiors.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and task completion.
• Ability to understand and use Microsoft Office software, QS-1, and Compounder.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent listening skills.
• Teamwork and initiative.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copier, fax, and telephone.

Work Environment

Work in a closed-door specialty compounding pharmacy with an aseptic environment. The work schedule is from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with flexibility required within this 12-hour range.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kennett Square, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
