Description: School Registrar, Clerk II, Cartersville Middle School Effective Date: July 15, 2026 Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma with training and/or work experience in word processing and computer skills; ability to meet and work with the public in an effective and tactful manner; possession of operational knowledge of business English, general vocabulary; ability to maintain clerical records. Terms of Employment: Classified Position, 210 Days, pay grade 4, with hourly rate depending upon relevant work experience. See Classified Salary Schedule at Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assists school administrators and staff by performing general duties and meeting and dealing with the public in an appropriate and respectful manner to provide quality service and information. Primary duties include student attendance and responsible for student school records. Specific duty assignments for this position are made by the principal of the school depending upon the need. The essential duties and responsibilities listed here are typical and general in nature. Other duties may be assigned.

- Provides general clerical support of administrative staff and/or their designees.
- Types or prepares from copy, rough draft, and/or detailed instructions
- Types or prepares form letters and completes forms for detailed information
- Checks reports and other documents for accuracy and follows up on discrepancies
- Operates a variety of office machines and equipment
- Provides assistance to principal, staff, and students with daily school activities
- Assists administrators with pre and post-planning activities
- Communicates with Central Office, as required or needed
- Coordinates dissemination of information, as assigned or required
- Assists administrators by informing parents and visitors of information and guidelines
- Receives and delivers messages to administration, staff and students; answers routine phone calls and provides information as assigned or required
- Maintains records, forms and/or other documents as assigned or required
- Maintains professional appearance of work area, as assigned
- Processes payroll information including leave forms, if assigned
- Enters data information in student information system such as discipline transactions, attendance, or demographics, if assigned
- Assists in registering new students, if assigned
- Reacts to developments in a professional manner as they occur, and report to administrators
- Assists staff in processing or handling of student records in a secure and professional and confidential manner
- Monitors student late arrivals, early dismissals, and other attendance-related issues, as assigned
- Complies with any reasonable oral or written directive from the principal or other appropriate administrator
