Quick Facts: Location: Mechanicsville, VA Start Date: 08/12/2026 Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM; On-call hours from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM weekdays, and Saturday 7:00 AM to Monday 7:00 AM Hours/Week: Full-time Employment Type: Locum Licensure: Virginia license required Experience: Prior interventional cardiology experience preferred Pay & Benefits: Hourly Rate: $18.72/hour Benefits: Competitive pay packages, weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits (W-2), robust referral bonus, paid sick time, licensure/certification reimbursements, travel and hotel reimbursement What You ll Do: Provide inpatient cardiology care and perform procedures including balloon angioplasties, coronary angioplasty, PCI, and heart catheterizations Manage vascular diseases and perform diagnostic procedures such as coronary angiograms and carotid stenting Collaborate with a team of interventional cardiologists and healthcare providers Respond to emergent call volumes, including STEMI call coverage Supervise and support clinical activities within the cardiology department Engage in medical management of vascular and coronary conditions Ensure patient safety and adhere to facility protocols What You Need: Active Virginia medical license with interventional cardiology certification Minimum of 2+ years experience in interventional cardiology Strong skills in coronary and vascular procedures Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced inpatient environment Excellent communication and teamwork skills About the Assignment: This locum placement at a busy regional medical center involves inpatient and call coverage for adult and geriatric patients. The facility features 250 beds, ICU services, and utilizes EPIC EMR. The role may include some rounding responsibilities to support acute patient care needs.
