HR Coordinator(Location: Onsite Lynchburg, VA)OVERVIEW:The HR Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role supports day-to-day HR activities including employee data management, scheduling, travel coordination, HR programs and meetings, and first-level employee support. The HR Coordinator maintains accurate employee records, assists with benefits and leave administration, responds to associate inquiries, and supports HR reporting and compliance. This role plays a key part in keeping HR organized, responsive, and employee-focused while partnering closely with HR Business Partners and People Leaders.RESPONSIBILITIES:HR Systems & RecordsMaintain accurate and timely employee data entries and updates in the HRIS (Workday), including new hires, job changes, and terminationsCustomize and run HR reports and queries from Workday as requestedCreate, maintain, and audit personnel and termination files in accordance with federal, state, and company retention requirementsEnsure confidentiality and integrity of all HR recordsBenefits, Leave & Associate SupportAssist with benefits administration activities, including enrollments, changes, and annual open enrollment initiativesSupport leave administration processes including FMLA, ADA, workers’ compensation, and other leaves of absenceEscalate complex employee relations or benefits issues to the HR Manager as appropriateCompliance & ReportingPrepare accurate and timely HR-related reports, metrics, and correspondenceSupport compliance efforts related to labor laws, audits, and internal HR standardsAdministrative & Operational SupportCoordinate employee engagement activities, recognition programs, team lunches and on-site events, ensuring smooth execution and a polished experienceProvide day-to-day administrative support to HR leaders, including real-time coordination of meetings, appointments, and shifting prioritiesReview, prioritize, and manage incoming emails, phone calls, and correspondence, screening inquiries from vendors, employees, and external contactsOwn calendar management and meeting scheduling for HR leaders; proactively update and adjust events throughout the day as needs changeArrange and manage travel and expenses, including flights and accommodations for HR leaders as neededPrepare and distribute monthly company directory and associate communications (birthdays, anniversaries, bereavements)Manage HR mail, supply inventory, and Self-Service Wall updatesAnswer multi-line switchboard and direct inquiries as neededAssist with vendor management, including vendor setup and invoice trackingTake on additional projects and administrative initiatives as requestedQUALIFICATIONS:Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the HR team and with cross-functional partnersHighly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up independentlyProficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word); Workday experience a plusProfessional, polished demeanor with strong written and verbal communication skillsFlexible and adaptable, with a willingness to take on new requests and shifting prioritiesProactive problem-solver who asks thoughtful questions and makes informed suggestionsDemonstrated ability to handle sensitive, confidential, and proprietary information with discretion and integrityOutgoing, calm under pressure, and collaborative—serving as a reliable liaison and point of contact for HR leadersTwo or more years of HR or administrative experience preferredExperience working with HRIS systems (Workday strongly preferred)Ability to work independentlyPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:An office position which requires minimum lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, bending, walking, climbing stairs, standing and stoopingSit in a chair at a desk most of the timeAbility to type and read computer screenOffice environment within a Distribution Center / Warehouse environmentFrequent exposure to production-floor activityOne of our core focuses here at JCG is creating a community and culture that builds belonging.
