Event Manager

Montana Silversmiths is looking for an experienced and dynamic Events Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of our event strategy across trade shows, Western industry events, premium events, sponsorships, customer activations, and corporate business opportunities. This position leads and develops the Events team across both the Western and Premium segments while overseeing event operations from concept through completion. The Events Manager will establish priorities, manage budgets and resources, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure events are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with company objectives. What You'll Do Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Events team members across the Western and Premium segments. Establish clear expectations, performance goals, and accountability measures. Supervise, prioritize, and delegate daily responsibilities to ensure efficient workflows and successful event execution. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities. Recruit, onboard, train, and retain department team members while promoting company values and a positive team culture. Develop staffing plans and schedules to support multiple concurrent events and business initiatives. Manage team workloads and resources to maximize productivity while maintaining high-quality execution. Lead regular team meetings, project updates, and post-event reviews to encourage communication and continuous improvement. Resolve employee concerns and operational challenges professionally and proactively. Foster a collaborative, customer-focused, results-oriented, and innovative team environment. Event Strategy & Planning Develop and execute the company's annual event calendar and strategic Events department plan. Establish event objectives, timelines, budgets, priorities, and success metrics. Lead event planning from initial concept through execution, teardown, and post-event analysis. Identify opportunities to improve event processes, operational efficiencies, and execution standards. Develop creative event concepts and experiences that strengthen customer relationships and support company growth. Manage risk assessments and contingency planning for events. Ensure all events align with company objectives, brand standards, policies, and safety requirements. Event Operations & Execution Coordinate event logistics including travel, shipping, inventory, booth management, promotional materials, and staffing. Oversee event setup, execution, and teardown while ensuring a seamless customer experience. Manage vendor selection, contract negotiations, and partner relationship recommendations in collaboration with the Vice President of Marketing. Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, sponsors, customers, and industry organizations. Represent Montana Silversmiths professionally at events and throughout the Western and Premium industries. Ensure events are executed on time, within budget, and according to established standards. Budget & Performance Management Develop and manage event and department budgets across the Western and Premium segments. Monitor expenses, approve spending, and identify cost‑saving opportunities. Establish and track event performance metrics and return on investment. Analyze event performance through reporting, attendee feedback, ROI metrics, and post‑event evaluations. Provide recommendations to improve future events, customer experiences, and overall event strategy. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Operations, Customer Service, and Executive Leadership. Foster strong communication and collaboration across departments to ensure successful event initiatives. Identify business opportunities and process improvements that support company growth. Promote continuous improvement across event planning, execution, and customer engagement. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience. 3–5 years of business experience within the events industry. Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members. Strong project management, strategic planning, and organizational leadership skills. Experience developing and managing budgets with financial accountability. Strong delegation, prioritization, and time‑management skills. Excellent conflict resolution, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities. Ability to build relationships and influence effectively across all levels of an organization. Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Ability to remain calm, adaptable, and solutions‑oriented in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Commitment to continuous improvement and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Ability and willingness to travel to a minimum of 2–3 events per month to represent Montana Silversmiths professionally. Physical & Travel Requirements This is an active event‑management position requiring regular travel to trade shows, industry events, premium events, and other company activations. The role may require extended periods of standing and walking, as well as assisting with event setup, teardown, displays, merchandise, promotional materials, and equipment. The position requires the ability to travel a minimum of 2–3 events per month , with schedules that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended travel depending on event requirements.
