Automation Scientist - 2nd Shift

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks an Automation Scientist to develop and validate immunoassay methods supporting pharmaceutical testing in the vaccines automation department. The role involves sample preparation, analytical instrumentation operation, and data analysis in a Richmond, VA laboratory on a second shift schedule.

Responsibilities

Perform immunoassay method development, validation, and troubleshooting for pharmacokinetic and immunogenicity testing
Conduct complex sample preparation and analysis procedures for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compound measurement
Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation following SOPs and regulatory guidelines
Review, interpret, and analyze data for technical quality and compliance with protocols and GMP/GLP standards
Collaborate with functional groups, train team members, and communicate project status to leadership

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, immunology, chemistry, or molecular biology
2+ years relevant experience or Master's degree in related field
Proficiency with analytical techniques: HPLC, GC, MS, dissolution testing, biopharmaceutical testing
Demonstrated data interpretation, technical writing, and method optimization abilities
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with excellent communication
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to lift 40 lbs and work standing for full shifts in laboratory environment
