Our trucks are designed to perform under the toughest conditions.Material Handler IIn Materials I, the employees perform more general labor work and do many non-skilled tasks. Their main task consists of more manual work such as picking parts. They may utilize forklifts and tow motors to pick and transport parts to designated areas; however, employees should be forklift certified before operating a forklift. The employees may assist in inventory of parts and use a computer to locate parts when necessary. As long as the employee is capable of performing the physical work, he or she is likely able to perform the material handling tasks in Material Handler I. Material Handler I is the entry level for all Material Handling positions.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesCommunicate verbally with co-workers to keep a safe working environmentFollow written and verbal instructions to complete tasksReview inventory paperworkLift light and/or heavy parts on and off a cart, floor, shelf, etc.Use of a cart to push/pull equipment and parts to and from designated areasOperate a forklift/tow motor to transport parts safelyAssist in tracking and recording inventory of various partsKeep areas stocked with the correct parts and suppliesAssist co-workers with heavy lifting of partsUnderstand the differences in parts and toolsSweep and clean work areaWork required hours and have excellent attendance recordWork overtime as neededMaintain a clean and safe working environmentMarginal Work Functions*These functions may be considered essential based on location, position, and other factors.Use of a computer to distribute and locate parts*Retrieve parts stored outside in all weather conditions: rain, snow, cold, and heat*Assist Material Handlers in other departments as needed*Basic QualificationsPrevious experience within a manufacturing or operational environmentPreferred Qualifications to Complete Essential FunctionsPrevious experience with inventory control systems and/or RF scanners.Forklift CertifiedKey Abilities Needed to Complete Essential Functions*All positions require the ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
