Position summary and general purpose: Provide leadership and coordination of company accounting, financial planning and budget management functions. Work with management and outside resources to develop and execute company accounting and financial reporting programs, policies and procedures. Ensure that all company accounting policies and procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles. An ideal candidate will have pervious manufacturing experience. Must have Manufacturing and Cost Accounting experience. 

Position responsibilities:

Provide effective and timely support to the business in all aspects of accounting and finance.

• Month End Close
• Developing and implementing financial policies
• Ensuring compliance with financial and accounting regulations
• Preparing and managing budgets
• Managing financial reports and documents, such as balance sheets and income statements
• Handling preparation for tax returns
• Assisting with corporate financial decisions
• Preparing financial forecasting reports and financial statements (internal and external)
• Reconciling accounts
• Coordinating audits
• Recommending financial performance benchmarks
• Communicating regularly with (and often reporting to) the chief financial officer (CFO)
• Overseeing accounts payable and receivable departments
• Ensuring income tax compliance
• Conducting comprehensive analysis of production costs, material consumption, and inventory levels

Required Skills/ Abilities:

• Must have Manufacturing and Cost Accounting experience. 
  
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Standard Cost Systems.
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local financial regulations and reporting.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
• Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, and product-line analysis.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Capable of managing multiple projects and programs.
• Decisive and sound business judgment.
• Leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
• Highly motivated business professional.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience, including leadership or management responsibilities. 
• CPA certification and/or MBA preferred
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software is preferred
• Manufacturing accounting experience is required.
• Cost Accounting is required. 
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; working knowledge of Outlook and Word required.
