Middle School (7th/8th grade) Girls Volleyball Head Coach

Trevor Day School’s Athletics program emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership. Trevor benefits from state‑of‑the‑art athletic facilities, including three gyms and training areas with fitness equipment. We welcome candidates for a Middle School (7th/8th grade) Girls Volleyball Head Coach for the fall 2026 season. This part‑time, stipended position begins September 8th and ends November 7th. Practices generally occur on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Practice times vary between 3:30 and 7:00 PM, but matches may run beyond that time. Practices are held at Trevor’s Middle and Upper School at East 95th Street. Games are held in and around the NYC region. Coaches are a vital part of the Trevor community, and we encourage them to take advantage of meals on campus, schoolwide events, and other activities. The stipend ranges from $1,575 to $2,475 for the 9‑week season. Responsibilities Attend all practices and games. Help create and execute all practice and game plans. Oversee team operations and administrative duties. Coordinate travel logistics. Attend all necessary athletic and school meetings. Communicate regularly with student‑athletes, parents, staff, and administrators. Provide leadership and give detailed feedback to student‑athletes. Exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior. Qualifications Bachelor's degree; minimum of one year of relevant coaching experience. Previous high school or college playing experience is preferred. Strong understanding of volleyball skills and strategies. Growth mindset and passion for learning. Ability to form strong professional relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with strong attention to detail. Commitment to equity and inclusion. Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative, independent school setting. Positivity, flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor. Candidates must complete 1) the Centers for Disease Control’s HEADS up concussion awareness training and 2) First Aid/AED/CPR certification before the start of the season.
