Requirements The Kitchen Prep Team Member plays a vital role in delivering the fresh, high-quality ingredients that are the foundation of the Tacos & Tequila Cantina experience. This position is responsible for preparing ingredients according to recipes and production standards, maintaining food safety and sanitation practices, and supporting a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen operation. What You'll Do: Prep with Excellence Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion ingredients according to recipes and preparation guidelines. Prepare fresh produce, proteins, sauces, salsas, and other ingredients to support daily kitchen operations. Follow prep lists and production schedules to ensure products are available for service. Maintain consistency in food preparation and portioning standards. Maintain Food Safety Standards Follow all sanitation, food handling, personal hygiene, and health regulations. Properly label, date, store, and rotate products to ensure freshness and food safety compliance. Monitor food quality and notify management of any concerns regarding freshness or product quality. Maintain clean and sanitized prep areas, utensils, and equipment. Keep the Kitchen Running Smoothly Organize and stock prep stations with necessary ingredients and supplies. Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating deliveries according to company standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout each shift. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and report repair or maintenance needs. Help minimize waste through proper handling and storage of food and supplies. Work as One Team Collaborate closely with kitchen and restaurant team members to support smooth operations. Communicate effectively with cooks, supervisors, and managers regarding prep needs and inventory concerns. Assist team members during busy periods and contribute to overall kitchen success. Remain open to coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement. Deliver on Our Standards Follow all Tacos & Tequila Cantina policies, procedures, and daily operational expectations. Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to contribute to a successful shift. Demonstrate our T.A.C.O. values through every interaction with guests and fellow team members. Support additional responsibilities as assigned by the management team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently bend, reach, lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with varying temperatures.
