Survey Manager - Heavy Civil Construction

Title: Survey Manager - Heavy Civil Construction
Location: Fort Lauderdale (West Palm Beach acceptable as well)
Salary: $95,000 - $110,000 + Bonus

Founded in 1988, we are a 150+ employee heavy civil contractor specializing in bridge construction, marine construction, site development, roadway improvements, underground utilities, and major public infrastructure projects throughout Florida and the Southeast.

The Survey Manager will lead all survey operations supporting active construction projects, overseeing field layout, control networks, as-built documentation, survey crews, and coordination with project management and field operations.

What You Will Be Doing

• Manage survey operations across multiple heavy civil and infrastructure projects
• Oversee field layout, staking, control points, GPS systems, and as-built documentation
• Coordinate survey activities with Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and field crews
• Ensure survey accuracy, quality standards, equipment maintenance, and data integrity
• Support project planning, production tracking, and construction execution through accurate field information

What You Need for This Position

• 5+ years of construction surveying experience, including leadership of survey crews on heavy civil, infrastructure, site development, bridge, marine, or public works projects
• Strong GPS, total station, data collector, construction layout, and as-built documentation experience
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans, grading plans, utility plans, roadway plans, and construction drawings
• Experience with survey software, field data management, machine control systems, GPS-guided grading, and construction technology platforms
• Background supporting FDOT, public works, roadway, bridge, utility, marine, or other large infrastructure construction projects
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with exposure to drone, LiDAR, or 3D modeling technology considered a plus
