Secretary I Radiology - Part Time - Day

The Secretary I Radiology interacts with patients and communicates with personnel from various departments and support services, the public, and department co‑workers. Provides administrative and clerical support to the Radiology department. Responsibilities Answer telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner, take accurate messages, and screen and transfer calls to the appropriate party. Act proactively to facilitate a smooth operation of the office. Perform duties with little or no supervision, maintain clerical supplies, and demonstrate resourcefulness in completing daily tasks and special projects. Greet and assist guests/customers in processing paperwork; provide clear instructions for required forms related to their tests. Use computer systems (EMR, PACS, EPIC, Teletracking, etc.) securely and competently. Maintain distribution of billing information, appendages, and consent forms; forward appropriate documents to the relevant department. Support team members with test ordering, result processing, copy making, filing, mailing, faxing, and information release. Manage patient data for billing and tracking; activate accounts, record films, and respond to requests promptly. Schedule appointments per physician orders and provide pre‑registration and preparation instructions. Keep work area and patient waiting areas neat, clean, and fully stocked; notify leader when supplies are low. Perform assessment and assistance for patients based on individual needs, including mobility support. Adhere to all HMH policies on employee identification, behavior standards, attendance, and punctuality. Handle shifts, including holidays and weekends, and work overtime as needed to ensure patient care continuity. Complete daily clerical duties using EPIC, PACS, Teletracking, and other hospital computer systems. Identify and respond to patient population needs, modifying care delivery appropriately. Participate in additional duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma, GED, or equivalent. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace. Compensation and Benefits The starting hourly rate is a reasonable estimate of the minimum base pay for this role. Compensation is benchmarked against market data and considers experience, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors. Eligible shifts may include differentials for evening, night, or weekend work. Full‑time and part‑time positions (20+ hours per week) receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
