Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on and motivated  Production Team Leader to manage daily operations in our rubber products manufacturing facility. This position combines production leadership with active participation on the shop floor. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a small production team while ensuring that quality, productivity, safety, and customer requirements are consistently met.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, leading by example, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations

• Open and close the facility following company procedures.
• Print and organize daily work orders.
• Prepare and distribute materials required for production.
• Review, validate, and close work orders, including labor and material usage.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Production Activities

• Cut rubber extrusions to specified lengths.
• Cut rubber sheet materials using waterjet cutting equipment.
• Bond, assemble, and fabricate rubber components.
• Build and assemble production fixtures and jigs from engineering drawings.
• Ensure products are manufactured according to specifications and technical drawings.

Quality Control

• Perform quality inspections and complete required documentation.
• Verify dimensions and product conformity using measuring tools.
• Investigate and document production issues.
• Develop and document best practices and work instructions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Leadership & Supervision

• Lead and support a small production team.
• Train and mentor employees on production processes and safety procedures.
• Monitor productivity and product quality.
• Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.

Maintenance

• Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment and tools.
• Identify and report equipment issues requiring repair.
• Assist in maintaining equipment reliability and uptime.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

• Previous manufacturing experience in a production environment.
• Experience supervising or leading employees.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measures, and gauges.
• Ability to work comfortably with both imperial (inches) and metric (millimeters) measurements.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
