They are responsible for managing the Operation in a multi-shift environment with 400 + full-time associates on a daily basis across the Ecommerce and Ready to Heat business lines. The Operations Manager is responsible for directly leading and managing the production team and partnering across departments within the plant to convert raw product into meal kits efficiently and with high quality. The Operations Manager is responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies and policies to achieve organizational goals and objectives.Detailed ResponsibilitiesCoaching & Development:Builds strong working relationships with all Superintendents, Shift Managers, Supervisors, and employees and continually strives to help all levels grow and improve in their rolesSets clear performance targets for Superintendents and discusses progress against plan on a daily basisEnsures Shifts Superintendents are effectively utilizing all standard toolsHelps to create a coaching culture by providing both positive and developmental feedback to Superintendents, Shift Managers, Supervisors, and EmployeesAssists all levels within the organization with problem solving issues impacting fulfillmentHelps develop effective people management skills of Superintendents, Shift Managers, Supervisors and LeadsFoster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.Empower and train staff to proactively identify improvement opportunities and contribute to a culture of excellenceAs necessary, resolves personnel problems by investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action while treating employees with respect through the process.Communication & LeadershipLeads by example and embodies Home Chef values of Customer First, Best-in-Class Team, Ownership, Pursue Excellence, and Deliver Happiness Cultivates culture centered around positive motivation and mutual respectDrives strong communication across shifts and departments by ensuring huddles and daily communications are completed effectively Demonstrates willingness to work flexible shifts in order to devote equal attention to all shiftsMaintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standardsDevelops and maintains strong working relationships with Asst plant manager and Home Chef leadership, across other departments (warehouse, maintenance, FSQA, HR, and procurement), and within production teamMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societiesProcess Improvement:Analyze existing processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.Implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.Monitor and report on operational performance metrics.Food & Employee Safety: Ensures all Home Chef GMP’s and operational guidelines are being followed and enforced.Follows and adheres to all safety protocols set forth by Home Chef including but not limited to: Lock out/Tag out procedure, instilling and ensuring a safe work environment, housekeeping in all areas, ensuring all employees are follows proper safety guidelinesMaintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; ensures adherence to established policies and proceduresDrives and improvement adherence to safety observations and checks to ensure all management is following guidelinesSOPs & AuditsPartners with Continuous Improvement (CI) team in development of new SOPs and modifications to existing SOPs Knows and drives adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production, warehouse, and quality departments Supports SOPs audit program as defined and conducted by the CI team Owns all plant specific Production SOPs and ensures documents are kept up to date in SOP databaseGeneral Responsibilities:Follow the facility GMPs and help enforce them throughout the facilitySupport the efforts of the company to maintain our food safety system (SQF) and quality programsThis position requires 5% travel.QualificationsThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed for this role. While compensation is within the provided range, it is not typical for offers to be made at the upper end.
