Remote Sensing Software Engineer

Salary: $69,300 - 158,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for 4+ years of experience in remote sensing, image processing, or GEOINT data exploitation
• We need experience designing, adapting, developing, writing, and implementing software applications using agile methods
• We require hands-on experience with Python and scientific Python libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, OpenCV, or xarray
• We are seeking experience with basic orbital mechanics
• We need experience using ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
• We require experience working with large sensor datasets such as HDF5 or cloud object storage
• An active TS/SCI clearance is required, along with willingness to undergo a polygraph examination
• A bachelors degree in a STEM field is required
• Nice to have: experience administering CI/CD pipelines with Kubernetes, Docker, or Jenkins
• Nice to have: experience with sensor phenomenology, radiometric calibration, or remote sensing interpretation
• Nice to have: experience with super-resolution, deblurring, spectral exploitation, or resolved feature extraction
• Nice to have: experience with uncertainty quantification, Kalman filtering, or tracking algorithms
• Nice to have: experience with AI-augmented development workflows or agentic tools
• Nice to have: experience with GitLab-based CI/CD workflows
• Nice to have: a masters degree in engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related STEM field

• We develop software tools for radiometric modeling and satellite observation geometry
• We implement imaging and signal-processing workflows, including motion compensation, multi-frame alignment, and super-resolution
• We build ML-enabled detection, anomaly identification, and object classification modules using operational EO/IR and synthetic datasets
• We design scientific Python pipelines, such as NumPy, OpenCV, Astropy, or SciPy, for both real-time and batch processing
• We support orbital modeling work, including SGP4, TLE ingestion, and basic pose estimation
• We carry out imagery preprocessing, including radiometric calibration, artifact correction, and multi-frame filtering
• We maintain reproducible environments using GitLab, containers, and experiment-tracking tools
• We collaborate with astrodynamics subject matter experts, operations personnel, and ML engineers to deliver integrated mission capabilities
