Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 3+ years of experience for a night shift position at a Level II trauma center.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within a Level II trauma center
• Coverage may include ICU, ED, MS, and NICU units
• Staffed with 7-10 RTs depending on census
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Floating may be requested based on facility needs

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• Specialty experience within the last year required for all units
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and RRT
• Preferred certifications: PALS, NRP, and CRT
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Epic charting experience required
• License required if applicable
• VA license required in hand at time of submission or proof of compact license
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Skilled in airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Proficient in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience with oxygen therapy including high flow nasal cannula and trach collar

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across adult critical care, ED, and NICU settings as needed
• Administer medications including bronchodilators and other respiratory treatments
• Perform bronchoscopy care and nebulizer treatments
• Local candidates accepted at the same base rate
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Prior facility employees must have a 6-month gap before returning as a travel clinician
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, ideally no full calendar weeks off and no more than 7 total days during the assignment
• All RTO requests must be submitted and approved prior to confirmation, with no additional requests after an offer is made
