- Venture Capital InvestorCathay InnovationAssociateVenture CapitalOn-siteLocationSan Francisco, United StatesDate PostedAugust 10, 2026RegionAmericasStay ahead of the marketGet instant notifications when new job openings matching "Venture Capital / Associate jobs in San Francisco, United States" are published.## About This Role**Role Overview**Cathay Innovation, a global venture capital fund investing out of a $1B early-stage Fund III (affiliated with Cathay Capital, ~$8B AUM), is expanding its San Francisco team and hiring an investor (Associate to VP level) with strong sourcing ability across the SF venture and tech ecosystem.**Key Responsibilities**- Develop investment theses and source investments across the AI stack (infrastructure, compute, models, inference, tooling), with room to flex into consumer, fintech and enterprise- Lead and support deal execution, financial modeling, investment memos and board work- Engage Cathay's corporate ecosystem and LP network to surface opportunities and insights- Build and nurture a network representing Cathay across events, conferences and thought leadership**Qualifications**- Strong understanding of the AI stack; semiconductors, robotics or autonomy experience a plus- High work ethic and willingness to spend significant time with AI labs and technical teams- Entrepreneurial, curious, and able to build authentic long-term relationships with founders**About Cathay Innovation**: Invested in over 100 startups worldwide including 19 unicorns (Chime, Ledger, PinDuoDuo, Wallbox, Owkin).
