Job Title: RRT - NICU

Must-Have: Experience in NICU, ED, and adult ICU preferred


Description:
RRT NICU requires respiratory therapists to have the ability to float to emergency room and adult ICU stepdown units.


The position involves assignments that vary based on acuity.


This is not a NICU-only position.


The traveler will rotate through adult units, floors, emergency department, intensive care units, and pediatric units.


Candidates should have respiratory experience in airway management, medication administration, ABGs, O2 therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizers.


Night shift positions require the ability to provide aerosol, bronchial hygiene, and lung inflation therapies.


Arterial blood gas draw and analysis, as well as CPAP/BiPAP implementation and management, are essential skills.


Previous experience in adult and neonatal intensive care, emergency department, or level 2 trauma is preferred but not required for all areas.


Attendance at monthly department meetings is necessary if the candidate is scheduled to work.


If not scheduled to work, the candidate must read and acknowledge the meeting minutes to management.


The role involves working in a community hospital setting with adult critical care, emergency room patients, and various age groups including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, and pediatrics.


Candidates are required to float within the hospital to meet facility needs.


The position also requires every other weekend and every other holiday.


There may be a potential for mandatory on-call shifts.


The department implements safety and quality initiatives that must be followed.


Candidates must complete up to 8 hours of training modules within one week of signing.


Travel pairs are not allowed on the unit, but may be considered for separate units without guaranteed scheduling.


The unit ratios indicate specific patient management expectations.


Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in various respiratory modalities and equipment used in critical care situations.
