Club Chef Opportunity

Panther National is seeking an experienced, motivated, and highly engaged Club Chef to partner with the Club's executive leadership team in leading and advancing every aspect of the Club's culinary program. This hands-on leadership position is designed for a chef who combines strong culinary expertise with excellent organizational, administrative, and people-development skills. The Club Chef will oversee daily member dining, banquet and event execution, culinary training, team development, food quality, kitchen standards, and operational consistency. Working closely with Club leadership, the Club Chef will help elevate the culinary experience while strengthening systems, standards, and team culture. Ideal for an accomplished Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, or similar culinary leader ready to take the next step toward a future Executive Chef role. Reports directly to the Assistant General Manager. Key Priorities for Success:

• Build trust, understand team strengths and development needs, and lead by example.
• Be a visible, hands-on leader who teaches, coaches, and mentors culinary associates.
• Maintain standards for professionalism, appearance, conduct, hospitality, cleanliness, organization, and execution.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and developing culinary team members.
• Conduct daily lineups and team briefings covering priorities, menus, events, operational updates, and member needs.
• Partner closely with Executive Chef and Front-of-House F&B leadership for a cohesive member experience.

Culinary Operations:

• Support a highly seasonal operation spanning la carte dining, member events, banquets, and simultaneous activities.
• Lead and develop a BOH culinary team of approximately 10 associates.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, freshness, timing, consistency, and execution.
• Develop standardized recipes, preparation techniques, plating standards, and portion controls.
• Assist with menu development, recipe costing, product selection, and pricing recommendations.
• Support banquet and special-event execution, staffing, preparation, timing, and culinary quality.
• Minimize food waste, product loss, and unnecessary expense while ensuring proper storage, labeling, rotation, and handling.
• Maintain sanitation, cleanliness, organization, safety, and compliance with applicable health, food-safety, OSHA, and Club standards.

Member Experience:

• Maintain appropriate visibility and engagement with members while representing Panther National's culinary standards and hospitality culture.
• Respond professionally and creatively to reasonable member requests and special dietary or culinary needs.
• Support innovative culinary programs and continually evaluate food quality, presentation, service execution, and member feedback.

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities:

• Understand the financial impact of daily culinary decisions and contribute to operational performance.
• Monitor food usage, waste, portions, yields, inventory, labor utilization, and scheduling.
• Assist with inventory, monthly reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, corrective action, and annual budget information.
• Use Club technology and systems to improve efficiency, communication, inventory, scheduling, and financial performance.
• Maintain strong professional relationships with food and supply vendors.

Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate is an accomplished culinary professional who is confident in their abilities while remaining eager to learn, grow, and develop as a leader. The successful candidate will demonstrate a genuine passion for food, hospitality, and the private-club experience; strong culinary fundamentals; a hands-on leadership style; excellent organization and communication; and a genuine interest in developing people and building high-performing teams.

Required & Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of progressive culinary leadership experience, including Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Club Chef, or comparable senior culinary leadership experience.
• Ideal candidate will have Sous Chef experience in a high-quality restaurant, private club, country club, luxury hotel, or resort.
• Private club, country club, luxury hotel, resort, or comparable hospitality experience preferred.
• Experience leading and developing culinary teams.
• Experience with banquet, special-event, and la carte culinary operations.
• Experience working in a temporary, transitional, or non-traditional kitchen environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of food cost, labor management, inventory, purchasing, and kitchen financial controls.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Comfortable with Jonas POS, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and emerging AI tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or related degree preferred.
