Make a real impact supporting students with diverse and significant needs in the Minneapolis area through this rewarding contract opportunity. This role is focused on delivering specialized education services to either middle school students in a Setting 4 program for those with more intensive disabilities, or elementary-aged children in a Setting 3 classroom primarily serving individuals identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Developmental Cognitive Delays. Both assignments offer supportive, collaborative environments and the chance to foster meaningful growth in students’ academic, social, and functional skills.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher license required
• Experience working with students with developmental cognitive delays, autism spectrum disorder, or significant disabilities strongly preferred
• Familiarity with adaptive equipment (e.g., wheelchairs) and managing mild behaviors
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Compassion, patience, and adaptability working with diverse learners

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and adaptations for a caseload of middle or elementary students, ensuring access to the curriculum within a supportive learning environment
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families for holistic student support
• Monitor progress, maintain detailed records, and regularly assess and adjust learning strategies
• Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere while addressing the unique learning and behavioral needs of each student
