Returns Supervisor

Salary: $50,000–$55,000 annually
Schedule: Full-Time, Salaried | Flexibility for extended hours as needed
Reports To: General Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, highly organized Returns Supervisor to lead a fast-paced warehouse returns department. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily processing of inbound returns, managing a team of up to 20 associates, coordinating with Customer Service and warehouse leadership, and ensuring client-specific requirements and deadlines are consistently met.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who brings a strong sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability to the department. This individual should be data-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable improving processes and reorganizing workflow as business needs and client volumes change.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and provide daily direction to a team of up to 20 warehouse associates.
• Develop and execute strategies to ensure all inbound return packages are processed accurately and on time.
• Monitor daily production goals, departmental performance, workload, and outstanding returns.
• Work closely with Customer Service to ensure returns are processed daily and client priorities are addressed.
• Locate and prioritize HOT or urgent return requests using tracking numbers.
• Oversee the complete returns process, including RMAs, RF scanning, inventory transactions, and product put-away.
• Utilize Order Management Systems (OMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to manage return activity and inventory.
• Track labor associated with specific clients for accurate invoicing and billing.
• Partner with Customer Service to resolve invoicing and billing inquiries.
• Work closely with leadership as client-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are developed and implemented.
• Ensure customer instructions and established procedures are followed accurately.
• Identify and report nonconformance, operational concerns, and other issues as they arise.
• Evaluate the returns area and reorganize workflow, staffing, and processes when necessary to improve efficiency.
• Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and departmental data.
• Promote a safe working environment and serve as a safety champion, leading by example.
• Collaborate with other supervisors and departments to support overall warehouse operations.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong communication with leadership.
• Provide additional support and work extended hours when necessary to ensure client deadlines and return volumes are successfully managed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of warehouse experience required, preferably in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
• Bilingual required.
• Previous experience with returns, RMAs, or reverse logistics strongly preferred.
• Experience using OMS and WMS platforms.
• Experience with RF scanners, inventory movement, and product put-away.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and hold a team accountable.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze data, monitor productivity, and meet daily production goals and deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and process-improvement skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing client priorities and operational demands.
• Must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, ownership, and pride in the department.
• Must be a collaborative team player who understands how the Returns Department impacts Customer Service, Inventory, Operations, and other warehouse functions.
• Willingness and ability to work extended hours when necessary to ensure returns are processed within required timelines.
