Job Title: Entry Level Machine Operator / Welder Machine Operator

Job Description

This production role involves operating a variety of machines and working across multiple areas in a modern manufacturing facility. You will use hand tools, measurement tools, and automated equipment to produce high-quality parts, and contribute to a flexible, team-oriented production environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production machines according to work instructions, prints, and job specifications.
• Use hand tools and measurement tools to adjust parts and ensure they meet required specifications.
• Read and interpret prints and job specifications to determine machine adjustments, material requirements, and production steps.
• Load and unload machines and ensure material is accurately aligned and properly positioned.
• Place components into fixtures
• Monitor machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Inspect welds and finished assemblies to verify quality and conformance to specifications.
• Measure workpiece dimensions to confirm accuracy of machine operation and make necessary adjustments.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpieces to ensure safe, clean, and finished parts.
• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, and workpieces.
• Operate material handling equipment as needed to move parts and materials within the facility.
• Enter production information into computer systems accurately and in a timely manner.
• Troubleshoot basic equipment or production issues and escalate more complex problems when necessary.
• Meet established production and quality expectations while following safety and operational procedures.
• Support any area of the production process as needed and assist teammates across different operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with the standards

Essential Skills

• Manufacturing experience in a production or industrial environment.
• Machine operating experience, including setting up and running production equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret prints, work instructions, and job specifications.
• Proficiency using hand tools and basic measurement tools to verify dimensions and make adjustments.
• Ability to monitor machine and robotic operations and identify defects or malfunctions.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for equipment and production issues.
• Comfort working with metal fabrication processes.
• Ability to enter and update production information in computer systems.
• Willingness to perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, and workpieces.
• Flexibility to work in different areas of the production process and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting quality and production standards.
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist wherever needed in the facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Peoria, IL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in East Peoria,IL.
