Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Night shift, 3x12.0 hours per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is adhered to. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals for each patient through collaboration with the patient/family and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences and document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize patient education based on identified health care needs.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to hospital safety policies and protocols.
• Engage in team-building activities to foster a positive work environment.
• Identify and initiate personal professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH only).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
