Medical Assistant

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Internal Medicine practice in Rutherford, NJ. This role is responsible for supporting providers in delivering high-quality patient care through clinical assistance, documentation, and coordination of care activities.
The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills, experience in internal medicine, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

• Patient Care & Clinical Support
• Room patients and prepare them for examination, including obtaining and documenting vital signs and medical history
• Perform medication reconciliation and update patient records
• Administer vaccines and assist with routine clinical procedures
• Support providers during patient examinations and treatments
• Documentation & Communication
• Manage provider in-baskets (electronic messaging systems) and respond to communications in a timely manner
• Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Facilitate communication between patients and care teams
• Administrative & Care Coordination
• Initiate and manage prior authorizations as required
• Assist with patient follow-ups, referrals, and scheduling support
• Ensure compliance with clinical workflows and organizational policies
• Patient Experience & Compliance
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
• Provide courteous, respectful, and professional interactions with patients and staff
• Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times

• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Knowledge of clinical procedures and patient care practices
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Prior experience as a CMA in Internal Medicine
• Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic or similar platforms)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
