Responsibilities What you get to do every day: Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Develops and implements testing strategies and document results. Provides advice on performance tuning and training to end-users. Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of servers running on one or more operating systems. Maintains database integrity and security, configures role-based access control (RBAC), and sets up administrative accounts. Sets up administrator and service accounts. Maintain documentation for configurations, standards, and procedures. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. Evaluates open-source or vendor tools and participates in database migration/special modernization projects. Collaborate with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures. Plan and execute database upgrades, patching, and migrations. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements Qualifications Clearance Required: Active TS clearance (with SCI Eligibility) and eligibility to obtain CI Poly Certification Required: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent recommended Education/Experience: Requires Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience 5 + years of related database analysis and/or administration experience Required Skills : PostgreSQL experience required. Oracle database administration a plus. Experience in PostgreSQL administration/tuning; including knowledge and implementation of database high-availability solutions and performance tuning Experience in monitoring, creating, and managing PostgreSQL server agent alerts Experience with Database backup, restore, migration, and Database snapshot technologies/strategies Knowledge on how to build/maintain efficient database table structures for both transactional and warehouse data Migration experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle and MySQL What is ideal? CompTIA Security+ or equivalent recommended. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements. This is not a guarantee.
