Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for an Industrial Engineer I with our power technology client in Whitakers, NC. This is a 6-month contract with a potential for extension.

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

Schedule: Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Description: Assists with the design, improvement, and installation of integrated manufacturing or administrative systems which use people, materials, information, equipment, and energy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists with the creation of standard work methods for new and current production lines.
• Assists with the design of safe and efficient work stations for manufacturing environments, using plant layout, ergonomic, and work station design principles.
• Assists with cost analysis on make vs. buy decisions for component or sub-assemblies.
• Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
• Ergonomic Fundamentals - Understands ergonomic concepts by applying ergonomic standards, guidelines, controls and tools to reduce ergonomic risk to employees while at work.
• Health and Safety Fundamentals - Champions and models proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting and participating in actions to improve health and safety in order to build an interdependent culture and contribute to an injury-free workplace.
• Line Balancing - Evaluates work activities performed by individuals or machines to identify opportunities to optimize operating time and distributing of the work content to meet the changes in customer demands while continuing to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Manufacturing Analysis Led Design - Uses digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes, equipment and performance to make data driven decisions before changes are made and to drive continuous improvements.
• Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.
• Process Layout - Creates and/or modifies an optimized manufacturing process by incorporating knowledge of equipment, human interfaces, sequences of production steps, and facilities requirements in order to reduce process time and waste.
• Work Measurement - Quantifies and evaluates the elements of work that make up a process by breaking it down into detailed steps to identify and reduce waste, and redistribute work content to optimize process flows.
• Values differences - Recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.
• Collaborates - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
• Continuous Process Improvement - Recognizes areas in which a process can be improved by properly implementing process improvement and waste reduction methodologies to reduce process cost and improve quality in current manufacturing processes.
• Drawing Interpretation - Integrates product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to support the design and development of an optimal manufacturing process that meets product design specifications.
• Industrial Engineering Knowledge - Integrates the pillars of industrial engineering techniques by applying a comprehensive and quantitative analysis to available data to be used as decision factors for the development or improvement of manufacturing processes to contribute to the most efficient process.

Responsibilities:

• Support EMF with sequence cart design and coordinate with vendors from design through production.
• Assist with Rack parts audits and optimize plant storage space.
• Support the storage identification process and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Assist in developing and maintaining process documentation for ongoing projects.
• Support PFEP documentation and updates.
• Contributes by applying the knowledge of Operations Excellence principles and practices as they are applied to ***.
• Assists the work by utilizing continuous improvement tools, following the *** Operations Excellence Standards, and contributes to the development of logistics standards and working methods.
• Works alongside business leaders, other functional leaders to proactively identify real issues and opportunities, develop prioritized improvement initiatives and coach them through to successful implementation.
• Contributes by utilizing business knowledge and experience to identify growth opportunities for the functions internal to plant to improve outcomes for the customer.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

• College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
• Experience: Basic level of relevant work experience required.

Additional Notes: This candidate will be responsible for reviewing part numbers and conducting analysis related to inventory and operational issues. The role will also involve managing small projects focused on identifying and resolving process or inventory discrepancies. Additional responsibilities include auditing inventory, gathering and analyzing data, and coordinating with vendors to ensure accuracy and efficiency. The candidate should have a strong understanding of design concepts in order to effectively collaborate with vendors. While this position will not involve creating designs, the individual will be expected to review CAD models and engineering concepts. We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
