Propulsion System (PRS) Virtual Designer for Energy Consumption & Vehicle Performance

Responsibilities The PRS Consumption System Designer is responsible for leading the evaluation of fuel economy, acceleration performance, capability (e.g. trailer tow) and drivability for new powertrains and vehicles using computer modeling techniques and test data analysis The System Designer analyzes PRS components, architectures and concepts to achieve functional requirements and trade-offs Creates models to analyze the performance of these concepts relative to requirements Conducts first principles analysis, development of detailed models, simulation using these models, analysis of the simulation results and draws conclusions from the simulation Communicates the results in oral presentations and written reports to Chief Engineers, COEs, Component Engineers and others including Propulsion Systems management Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering (in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or related Engineering field) Minimum 5 years of experience in product development (preferably in the automotive area) simulating propulsion systems Thorough knowledge of Microsoft office products Thorough knowledge of the English language including both written and oral communication Preferred Qualifications Thorough knowledge of vehicle Propulsion Systems including internal combustion engines, transmissions, axles, drivelines, batteries, and eMotors Thorough knowledge in the disciplines of propulsion control strategies and energy management optimization Thorough knowledge of commercial codes including, but not limited to, MATLAB /Simulink, Stateflow, and Simulink coder DFSS green or black belt certification At Stellantis, we assess candidates based on qualifications, merit, and business needs.
