About the Role:

The BMS LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care within the healthcare industry. This position involves providing direct nursing care under the supervision of advanced practice providers and physicians, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and well-being. The LPN will be responsible for monitoring patient health, administering medications, assisting with medical procedures, and contributing to effective treatment plans. Additionally, the role requires maintaining accurate patient records and communicating effectively with healthcare team members to support coordinated care. Ultimately, the BMS LPN helps improve patient outcomes by delivering compassionate, skilled nursing care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Ohio within the United States.
• Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of nursing principles, patient care techniques, and medical terminology.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience or training working in the Pulmonary specialty preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• 3 years of clinical LPN experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and record patients’ vital signs and health status, reporting any changes to the APP or physician.
• Facilitate durable medical equipment, (DME), orders as well as compliance testing.
• Obtain prior authorization for testing performed at outside facilities.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and post-treatment care.
• Ensure a safe and clean environment by following infection control protocols and safety procedures.

Skills:

The required skills enable the BMS LPN to perform essential nursing duties such as administering medications accurately and monitoring patient conditions effectively. Strong communication skills are vital for educating patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
