Patent Agent - Electrical

Job Overview A law firm seeks an experienced Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property and Technology Division in Los Angeles, CA. The successful candidate will draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications, provide patentability assessments, and assist with freedom to operate and due diligence assessments. Duties Draft and globally prosecute patent applications. Coordinate with foreign law firms for filing foreign patent applications. Maintain client patent portfolio and manage patent prosecution docket. Prepare and send notices to clients regarding deadlines. Collaborate with partners and legal staff on patent matters. Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution. Experience managing patent applications and patents during all phases of prosecution. Law firm or in-house IP experience. Education Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or similar field. Certifications U.S. Patent & Trademark Office registration. Skills Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
