Banquet Captain

Responsibilities Set up for functions to include draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, and putting out table centerpieces. Assist in leading the F&B team in all aspects of a banquet event. Oversee banquet event setup and ensure that all details are in line with client requirements. Coordinate with kitchen staff and chefs to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food and beverages. Direct banquet staff throughout the event, ensuring they provide excellent customer service. Serve food from the kitchen, carrying trays to the function location, serving food, and clearing the food from tables. Break down: bussing tables, putting away dirty linen and centerpieces. Clean back hall and organize storerooms. Reset next events in all dining areas. Assist with event room setup according to meal period and table needs. Serve food and beverages to guests, remove dishes, glasses, silverware and other items from tables or countertops and take them to the kitchen. Clean and sanitize tables and/or counters & seats after guests are finished. Explain how various menu items are prepared, cooking methods and ingredients. Consider any special request and dietary issues made by the guest. Provide general property information and offer a warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests. Interact with staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information. Ensure final quality check on food and beverage items prior to serving guests. Monitor events for customer satisfaction, quality, and additional service. Address any guest issue promptly and with high concern. Assist other events and restaurant staff as needed. Maintain constant awareness of safety issues such as broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons. Provide training and guidance to banquet staff as needed. Resolve any issues or complaints quickly and professionally. Conduct pre‑event briefings and post‑event evaluations. Demonstrate experience leading high‑volume catering and banquet events. Be available to work on weekends and holidays as needed. Qualifications 2–4 years of food service experience, preferably banquet service. Experience in a 4‑star or 5‑star venue with synchronized service. Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits. Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment. Passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests. Excellent communication skills. Compensation $30.00 - $35.00 Pyramid Global Hospitality is an equal opportunity employer.
