And throughout your career here, you’ll have the chance to directly shape the foundation for what's next in our industry.Position Summary:The CAD/CAM Programmer is responsible for developing, programming, and optimizing fabrication programs for sheet metal manufacturing equipment including laser, punch, and press brake systems. This role supports manufacturing throughput by creating accurate nests, minimizing material waste, reducing setup time, and ensuring smooth production flow between Engineering and Fabrication.The CAD/CAM Programmer works closely with Engineering, Production, Fabrication, and Supply Chain to support on-time production and continuous improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Programming & NestingCreate and optimize CNC programs for laser cutting equipment, turret punch equipment, and press brake operationsDevelop efficient sheet metal nests to maximize material utilizationGroup jobs/material thicknesses to reduce tooling and setup changesMaintain proper revision control for all fabrication programsEnsure programs align with released engineering drawings and BOMsProduction SupportSupport fabrication operations with troubleshooting and program adjustmentsCoordinate with fabrication supervisors and operators on program improvementsPrioritize programming work to support production schedules and bottleneck managementEnsure fabrication programs are released accurately and on timeRespond quickly to production issues affecting throughputContinuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to reduce setup times, improve nesting efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve fabrication flowSupport standardization initiatives for material thicknesses, sheet sizes, part orientation, and tooling strategiesParticipate in Kaizen and process improvement activitiesData & File ManagementMaintain organized CAD/CAM file structure and revision historyArchive obsolete programs and prevent outdated file usageEnsure accurate communication of revision updates to fabricationAssist in developing programming standards and documentationQualifications & Requirements:Required:Experience with CAD/CAM programming in a manufacturing environmentExperience with RADAN or similar CAD/CAM softwareKnowledge of sheet metal fabrication processesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprintsUnderstanding of laser cutting, punch operations, and press brake formingStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentPreferredExperience programming CNC lasers, CNC punch presses, and CNC press brakesHVAC or sheet metal manufacturing experienceLean manufacturing or continuous improvement exposureKey CompetenciesAttention to detailSense of urgencyProcess-oriented thinkingStrong communication skillsTeam collaborationContinuous improvement mindsetAbility to manage multiple prioritiesBenefits:Medical, vision, and dental plansShort-term and long-term disability insuranceGroup term life insurance coverageHSA, FSA, and Dependent Care plans available8 paid holidays, 4 floating holidays, and generous PTO policy401k matchingCompany paid eventsAnnual safety shoe allowanceEducation assistance programEEO Statement:MAS HVAC is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity.
