Project Manager

Overview A growing advanced engineering and automation firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project/Program Manager to oversee large-scale, high-value capital equipment projects. This individual will lead the planning and execution of complex programs from proposal through final customer acceptance, ensuring excellence in cost, schedule, and customer satisfaction. Ideal candidate will experience managing projects between $2M-$20M involving complete automation systems. Base pay range $125,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr Greater Detroit, MI or Portland, OR (Relocation Assistance Available) Up to 50% travel Key Responsibilities Lead cross-functional teams in the delivery of automation and capital equipment projects Serve as the main point of contact for the customer, maintaining regular updates and strong client relationships Develop and manage comprehensive project plans and schedules using both traditional and agile methodologies Coordinate internal engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, controls, and software) to meet project milestones Oversee scope, cost, risk, resource allocation, and change management throughout the project lifecycle Drive issue resolution, continuous improvement, and successful project close-out Mentor junior project managers and contribute to resource planning and project portfolio oversight Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred) 10+ years of experience managing complex capital equipment or automation projects Deep understanding of PMP or Agile Strong leadership, communication, and customer-facing skills in fast-paced, technical environments Familiarity with mechanical design principles, system integration, and manufacturing best practices Experience with SolidWorks, PDM, or similar tools is a plus Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Product Management, Project Management, and Customer Service Industries: Automation Machinery Manufacturing #J-18808-Ljbffr
