JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Community Outreach Coordinator

SUMMARY: The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for building relationships, increasing community awareness, and expanding access to services for individuals with disabilities. This role connects the organization with community partners, participants, families, and stakeholders to ensure programs are inclusive, accessible, and widely utilized.

JOB DUTIES:

1. Develop and implement outreach strategies to connect with individuals with disabilities, families, and caregivers
2. Represent the organization at community events, workshops, and resource fairs
3. Build partnerships with local agencies, schools, healthcare providers, and advocacy groups
4. Conduct presentations to promote programs and services
5. Assist in coordinating programs, workshops, and events
6. Support consumer introduction and questions regarding services.
7. Ensure accessibility and inclusion in all outreach activities
8. Gather feedback from participants to improve services
9. Create and distribute outreach materials (flyers, newsletters, social media content)
10. Maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
11. Help manage website updates and community communications
12. Track outreach efforts, participation metrics, and outcomes
13. Maintain accurate records of contacts and partnerships
14. Prepare reports on outreach activities and program impact

15.    Assist with other duties as directed.

DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma, some college preferred.

Experience:  Two or more years of personal experience with people with disabilities. Life experience will be considered.

Knowledge:  Disability advocacy, Social Service, Community, Government, Community and Media relations.

Skill:  Strong people skills with some public speaking and written communication.  Strong Computer skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Primarily Local and regional travel, including; Wayne, Franklin, Fayette, Rush, Henry, Decatur, Union counties, with some normal office duties.
