What We Need: We are looking for a Morning News Editor for the Rocky Mountain Region of 24/7 News. This is an exciting full-time opportunity to write and craft newscasts for KOA's morning news block, as well as provide local, regional, and national news content to the 24/7 News Wire. Availability and desire to work early mornings is a must. What You'll Do: Write clear, concise news copy. Assemble stories into newscast under intense deadline pressure. Produce, edit and write content for 24/7 Newswire. Post news and video content to newsroom social media platforms. Gather audio from press conferences, live events and partner TV stations. Produce short-form reports (voicers/wraps) for anchors on the following shift. May be called on to anchor breaking news reports as needed. General newsroom responsibilities and duties as assigned. What You'll Need: Must have strong news writing and story selection skills. Must know how to assemble stories in a newscast in a logical order. Must be willing to work early, pre-dawn hours. Strong social media skills including email, writing/posting for Facebook, X (Twitter) and Instagram. Excellent writing and editing ability; excellent grammar. Strong time management skills; adept at setting priorities and managing deadlines. Knowledgeable and up to date with local, regional, and national trends. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
