Advanced Practice Nurse In Behavioral HealthProvide advanced practice nursing care specializing in behavioral health for patients across the lifespan in an ambulatory clinic and/or hospital setting. Responsibilities include psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, therapeutic intervention, and coordination of care with the interdisciplinary team. The NP/PMHNP plays a key role in improving access to behavioral health services and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesPromote the mission, vision, and values of the organizationConduct psychiatric and behavioral health evaluations for new and established patientsDiagnose and manage mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, psychosis, and mood disordersPrescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications in accordance with evidence-based practice and state/federal guidelinesProvide brief therapeutic interventions and supportive counseling as appropriateCollaborate with physicians, social workers, therapists, and nursing staff to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plansEducate patients and families regarding psychiatric diagnoses, treatment options, and medication managementEnsure continuity of care by coordinating referrals to specialty providers and community resourcesDocument all patient encounters in the electronic health record in a timely and accurate mannerParticipate in case conferences, team meetings, and quality improvement initiativesMaintain licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements in accordance with state regulationsDemonstrate professionalism, empathy, and cultural sensitivity in all patient and staff interactionsServe as a resource for staff education on behavioral health topics and evidence-based practicesProvide crisis intervention and support in urgent or emergent psychiatric situationsNon-Essential FunctionsPerforms other duties as assigned.Roosevelt General Hospital (RGH) is committed to providing safe, quality care to patients.
